I've been eyeing the Greeley boots. For those of you who have them, how do you wear them? Are they too slick to wear with jeans or chinos?

I think you could wear them with both. They last is pretty solid so it makes a nice counterpoint to the austerity brogue and should let you wear them informally

I was worried they might be too formal, but that fear has proven unfounded. They might be too formal for jeans and tshirt, but jeans and a button-front shirt are just fine. Menswear geeks might scoff, but remember that they are about one in 500 in the wild.

    Pull the trigger!

    LBM 46/36 might work...

What about the duck napoli sportcoat? That's a hardier cotton, right?

Ah man, those look great! Love the color of that leather. I hope that they can find something similar and run it again in the future.

Thank you sir, glad that you're pleased with them!

Yup, the guys did a champion job of packing Rivet Chino MTO's this weekend. They arrived in a huge box on Friday. If they haven't already been picked up by USPS then they will be on Tuesday. I've also got a lot of pictures to share tomorrow on how they made up.

Yes, Horsehide Wyatt's should be here on Tuesday. I'm planning to put them up that evening with studio shots, and add in fit shots on Wednesday.

We have two officially recommended tailors in NYC.

For trouser hems and small trouser alterations, we recommend Orchard Tailor Services - which is right across the street from our store. They do fast and extremely inexpensive work. They also do very competent alterations on leather garments.

For anything else: Pablo at Stanton Tailors. He is the best tailor that I've used and his prices are extremely reasonable. No one is perfect, but he'll stand behind his work if he doesn't nail it for you at the first go. Our customers have been very pleased with his services. There can be a bit of a backlog, but he tends to bump Epaulet customers up the line as we refer a lot of clients to him.

Yup, it will be 50% down to place the order.

Yes, you should be good with a Mulberry Large. I'm essentially in the same boat (I wear an Epaulet L, but it's right on the edge of being too tight) and the Mulberry in Large fits me wonderfully. I can layer a thin sweater underneath if need be as well. You're going to love it!

We'll look to have our own photos online by Tues-Wed. The exact source for Museum Calf is still not confirmed, so I won't have actual swatches for that. But I'll see if I can get more info and pricing for anyone interested in that.

This is pretty boss - I love the gold buttons!

It's hard to say without knowing how much tapering you want, but if we're just talking a little bit here, then doing it just from the back should be fine. If you know your tailor, then I'd let him be the judge. Generally, you can bring in the center a little bit if you want a slimmer fit in the abdomen. But more than a little and you'll want to have the sides adjusted as well to keep everything balanced.

This is freaking awesome! Love the pics!

Yes sir, we'd recommend keeping your size on that.

I'd offer two options that might work. For a size 34, you'd need to order it MTO - but with that, we can dial in the length of your body and sleeves, if needed, and you can choose all of your own pockets, buttons, and liner.

We have an item online already for the Duck Canvas Jacket in MTO. This has been a really popular item, and we must have made close to 100 of them between stock production and MTO. It's a cool jacket that's wearable through all four seasons AND you can easily get a matching pant down the road if you want to make a suit oout if it.

We could also cut you a one-off coat in Navy Steep Twill Fabric. Price on that would be $695. Here's the link to our trouser in this fabric. . This is more of a Fall/Winter piece, but it makes up brilliantly.

I just use regular shoe trees in my boots. We carry the "Epic" model which works really well in them.

    VASS MTO EVENT ADDITIONAL OFFERS

    Hey guys,

I got a blizzard of PM's about the Vass MTO Event this Fri-Sat, and we decided to open up the terms a little bit. Since we've got product coming early this week (like the Horsehide jackets), some guys were anxious about waiting to order (and things possibly selling out), if they wait until the Vass Event So here's the details:

    1) Our Vass Fall Delivery will arrive on Tues-Wed, so we'll have that fully in stock before the event.

    2) If you buy a pair of Vass shoes (either MTO or stock), you'll receive 15% off any Epaulet merchandise that you buy along with it. If you want to buy a few things throughout the week, we'll give you 15% off all of it - as if you bought it all at once with the shoes. Your Vass shoes are not discounted, but the item that you buy along with it is.

    3) Starting today, if you buy something before the event, but you buy the Vass shoes during the event, then we'll give you the discount retroactively. You would just need to buy your Vass shoes by Oct 12th

    4) The 15% offer is good for everything BUT other Vass shoes and Carmina MTO orders. In-Stock Carmina's and Aldens are fine.

    5) Vass MTO orders can be placed in person in the Manhattan store or via phone to the Santa Monica store (with me directly). If you want to place your MTO orders before Fri-Sat, then that's no problem.

Hope this is all clear (and just let me know if it isn't). Ultimately, we want to take care of you guys, we want to get you into some beautiful shoes and some great F/W Epaulet gear, so I'm easygoing on how the discount works.

FWIW I wear an LBM 46 and an Epaulet 38R or 37R, so I'd think an LBM 46 might be too big for you althanis. Mike's rec for a Duck Canvas MTO seems like a great option if you want something cotton.

I have worn them with chinos. I have not worn them with jeans, but I expect many would. But the formality of them -- the austerity wingtip and the balmoral -- make them wearable with slacks and sportcoat as well. I think they are very versatile - maybe slightly less than an open-laced boot, but not enough for this wearer to care.

Picked up my first pair of raw denim and I'm struck with how good it looks with the natural CXL indys. The perfect fall ensemble. The only thing that I'm not quite sure of is when I throw my navy eisenhower on, I sometimes think it looks a bit too monochrome with the raw jeans. Next thing I know, I actually start liking it [IMG]

Also, I think I've come to accept the fact that those leather jackets as well as the current Wyatt are going to be too rich for my blood as of now. Gotta save up for a car.. #thirdworldproblems
Although what's been said about the cowhide Wyatt being substantial could have been right up my alley with our climate here, sigh

Thanks for the advice on the cotton sportcoat. Sounds like a 34 MTO would be the best bet.
