You've been posting some great pics but they would be even better with more of the bulldog :)

About to pull the trigger on one of the pair of special order trousers. What do you guys think, Boggy Marl or Dark Forest?

Haha! I like your thinking, but the wallet needs some allocation towards Christmas presents.

Are the new special order trousers going to stay up until they sell out, or will they only be up for a limited time? I really can't afford to buy anything else right now, but if some fabrics are still available next month I might be in for a pair.

My question too. I think I need to figure out what I have and what pants I need to retire.

Grabbed the checkerboard tweed in Rudy. Never ordered Rudy's before but all my Walts get taken in 1" so hopefully ordering down a size will be perfect.

They're going to be $150, and they're amongst the best US-made jeans that I've ever seen. I think that you guys will be pleasantly surprised with all of the prices that we have for EPLA.
Haha, I know a lot of guys are overloaded with jeans! We're starting with one-wash denim, but we've got a black overdye planned for the end of January. That's a bit more rare, so it might fill a niche in your assortment :). We had a massive brainstorming session in New York and came up with about a dozen new product concepts to make out here. We're putting a ton of new products into work!
Yup. This all seems very familiar. Adele and I have officially joined this chorus. We went to see "Catching Fire" last night at the Century City Mall, which is a largely outdoors multi-level shopping plaza. It was like 55 degrees when the movie ended and both of us were remarking how cold it was. Sad but true.
Killer! The blouson fits you great.
Dark Forest is a great SoCal fabric - it's on the lighter side and will feel along the lines of the "flanella" that we released last year. And I actually have all of the swatches here at the LA store.
They'll stay up until they sell out. We're no longer doing "Factory Finds" for trousers, but we'll rather assemble closeout price goods from time to time and post them up. Like we did with the Wool-Mink-Cash fabrics. In the Springtime, I'll also build out additional in-season fabrics for your to order into. We're going to somewhat narrow what trousers we stock, and we'll offer more for special order, so you guys who know your sizes will have a much larger choice of fabrics.
Oh you're going to love Chessboard Tweed! That's actually one of the most (originally) expensive fabrics that we've ever offered. It was custom-woven in Scotland for the now-defunct line "Obedient Sons." We bought all of the remaining cloth and it's one of a kind. Would make a rad suit if anyone ever wants to MTO a jacket in it.

    Special Order Trousers Rundown

Big thanks to everyone who's ordering these today. We've got some killer options available for you. Let me take you through everything with a personal touch:

Special Order Trousers Closeout Wools and Novelties

These are off-price goods with limited availability. Chessboard Tweed is heavyweight and has a cool black/white weave. Lemon-Lime Birdseye and Boggy Marl are medium weight. Boggy Marl has a really nice texture and great colors. Dark Forest is lighter weight and great for warmer places or a late Spring transition piece. The two Japanese cottons are really light and best suited for late Spring/early Summer. Stock on those is pretty tight (about 7 units per fabric), and they make up into a rad "critter" pant.

    Special Order Trousers Closeout Corduroy
What you see is what you get here. Two great quality very wearable Corduroy fabrics at about 20% off the usual price. Cut to order.

    Special Order Trousers Premium Corduroy
The Petrol and Burnt Orange cords are from the same mill as the Closeout ones. These are just in-season and impossibly rad colors.

And words can't say how nice the cotton-cashmere cloth is. This is the same fabric that Incotex charges about $500-$700 for. The hand on it is ridiculous and these will probably be the most comfortable trousers that you've ever worn. I love mine.

    Special Order Trousers Wool-Cashmere-Mink

The legend of FW'13! Most of you guys who ordered them in the first round should have these in your hand. We were able to shoot some daylight shots of the finished trousers (see below). We're getting down to the last 3-4 pieces in grey and the last 9-10 in brown. This fabric is just as fantastic as it sounds:

Wow, the denim will only be $150? That's a really low price compared to most other made in the USA selvedge options out there. Are you still planning on offering any MTO orders for those in extended lengths for us taller dudes? I'll probably have to try a pair on first to see if the cut will work for me

I initially said I was going to kop EP gear next year as part of my resolution, but the Dark Forest Flannels look pretty neat, especially at that closeout price. I'm really new to the "Flannella" concept. Can somebody recap me and give me an overview of how warm they run and whether these pants are good for 2-3 seasons.

Sure, it's the Italian handle for lightweight flannel. It Italy, it's popular in warmer climates - like Rome - as a proper Fall/Winter pant. As such it's great for any place that has a milder winter overall.

That said, we've also sold plenty of this kind of fabric in NYC. Guys still wear regular weight suits in the winter with lighter trousers than this. The general rule is that you'll want it to be under 65 degrees to wear these comfortably. So that will largely determine how many seasons you'll get out of it.

The Dark Forest color is great. It works with Navy, Grey, and any kind of Camel/Khaki tone. Really brilliant with brown shoes.

My wife has been asking me how many pairs of pants do I really need and she doesn't know there are two in the mail. But these pics might just add one more to her surprises...

In for the Boggy Marl in Rudy fit. My first go at the trousers. 34 rivets fit me well if only a touch large where they sit and 33 rivets are a tad tight at the waist/seat initially and too slim at the thigh for trousers, but good for chinos. Seems like 33 in Rudy would be good with the higher rise and full seat/hip/thigh area?

Quote:Awesome Mike. I'm in for a pair. Since these are flannels, are they cut similar to the other flannels such as the nightshades? I asked this because the nightshades were a tad roomier in the thigh and leg area than my S120s walts even though they were bought in the same size. If they are indeed cut similar to the other heavier fabrics and not the lighter fabrics, I will size down one and just let out the waist. Thanks.

Thanks, will see if I can stop by this weekend, are you open on Sundays now?

Thinking to do the same, my walts always are a pinch tight and I'm super fat now

    Epaulet,

Is there a fitpic of the boggy marl trousers somewhere? It's so hard to extrapolate a close-up online swatch into visualizing real world pants.
