1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

On a different note, I always get a little bummed when i see UPS from the shipping confirmation. A week wait instead of 2-3 days. Won't matter once the SM store is all setup. Shouldve just waited till this weekend to purchase in store. Cursed impatience/impulsiveness

    Our awnings are up!

The Santa Monica store is very close to being realer than "real deal" Holyfield...

Will the no sales tax offer apply to MTO Rivet Chino's ordered in store that day?

^ W, you are lucky. I can only walk beside an Epaulet store using google's street view [IMG] (btw, it of course still shows the old jewellery store on the Santa Monica spot)

Completely true. Statistics and a general operations or finance education support this. On the other hand so many retailers do this that there is an important niche for smaller and thinner sizes. Not that I'm saying it would be a good business model for Epaulet, but it is what Blue Owl on this forum does to some degree. Suit Supply has also expanded large numbers of smaller sizes. They can achieve profitability because of their large market share in this segment and larger numbers of stores to spread out the cost and achieve scale.

The special order compromise is an excellent solution, it mitigates the small scale with the surcharge without forcing other customers to subsidize.

I appreciate the comments. On the whole I real am very happy, personally, with Epaulet.

I wasn't trying to bag on Epaulet so much as to satisfy my curiosity and (presumptuously, I suppose) suggest a way for people on the ends of the bell curve to try on items remotely with less financial risk.

Having found my sizes I don't have much to complain about. It's minorly frustrating that the Rivet cost has increased but it's obviously not a dealbreaker, and I do get extra options to accompany the increase in cost. I am also more partial to Walts, which are unchanged.

Hopsack really is cool. I do admire though the wool jacket and trousers with tie in the heat. :)

For me today, wine chambray RCs:

As a current fat guy, having Epaulet around is one of the few ways to buy well-made clothes short of having everything in my wardrobe MTM or bespoke. Ever since the first time I walked into the shop to try on a pair of shoes and made an offhand comment about not even bothering to look at the clothes because small shops like this would never carry anything in my size, Mike, Matt, and everyone else have been nothing but gracious. I did have to take a chance on my first walts and sportcoat based on extrapolating measurements, but it was well worth it. Having to wait a few weeks for a special order may be a bit of a pain compared to being able to pick new things up as soon as they come out, but its still a much better solution for me than anywhere else out there.

And I too, by no means, intend my comments to personally offend you at all. Just conversing.

And I'd agree with this too - glad you enjoy it and have already nailed down sizing.

I probably mean to offend a few people.

Just wanted to be clear about that for the record.

Always. SVB's got his hitlist all drawn up already.

EDIT: Disclaimer is always nice. People get passions so flamed so quickly it's not worth the risk.

Man, I just got my order, and I realized something... You guys are going to have to print all new pack-in cards and boxes for your orders since you added a new store. Exciting times!
