Fedoras have a rep for making dorks trying to look cool look even dorkier. And it's a fair assessment, since this is usually the sequence of events. But this is one of those exceptions. I've never been a hat guy, yet when I saw this while visiting Epaulet for the first time two years ago, I needed it. Hell, even our very own goth-loving poster formerly known as Magician owned and loved this hat until it made a most unfortunate departure from his life.
Worn sparingly during that summer, the hat remains in such great condition that I don't feel hesitant to simply pass along the stock photos graciously available for borrowing from Epaulet's website. It's at once light yet durable feeling. I recall being taken aback by how flimsy similar looking fedoras from the H&M's of the world felt after I had this in my possession.
This also makes an easy companion piece when traveling, since you can actually flatten it and stow it away without permanently compromising the fedora's shape.
Since the fedora has since been marked down on their site, I'll follow suit. $45 (now $40) + actual shipping.
