x-post from the EB GMTO thread

    Update on my GMTO ideas

    1) Enzo Bonafe 3579
    [IMG]
    Claret Museum Calf
    946 Last (G Width)
    Single leather sole
    Black calf lining
    Black edge dressing
    Flat laces as shown
"Derby" toe cap medallion (The picture shows the Francesina medallion)

We have 2x people for the 946 G width. Just need one more.

I'd also like to propose a second GMTO idea:

    2) Enzo Bonafe 3881 (Plain toe blucher in Dark Cognac Shell Cordovan)
    Dark Cognac Shell Cordovan
    363MOD Last
    Millerighe Rubber Sole
    Natural Calf Lining
    Natural Edge Dressing
    Round waxed laces
    No toe medallion of course

I'll also consider a derby (model 3871) if people are more interested in that.

Any wide footed folks here that have gone 946 H width and can compare to Vass H width or Carmina extra wide lasts? Curious on sizing...

AE 5-65 last size 10.5 EEE
    Bonafe 946 last size 10 H
    Vass P2 last size 44 H

I'd say the Bonafe is widest at the ball, but shortest at the toe, and very aggressively tapered. It's also got a steep instep, which causes creasing issues for me.

The P2 last is quite roomy in the toe box, but hugs the foot all around. This one fits me the best.

Good luck!! I've got a Carmina Detroit 10 EEE and Rain 10 EEE on GMTO order, so am looking forward to being able to compare.

thanks for the help, I'll be curious to see how your 3E detroit compares to the 3E rain, as I sized the same as you with only half size down (7.5EEE rain) compared to me AE 5 last size (8EEE) but the Carmina was much more snug pretty much all around.

But sounds like the 946 might work for me with more volume in the instep, if only it wasn't so chiseled :(

@ Peppercorn78 would you say if rain last by carmina fits you well then same size in EB last 946, 805, will also, fit you well aka same as rain. Is this true or there is difference?

I'll let you know when I receive my Carminas. My Detroit PTB should be here sometime next month, and the Rain last Chelsea should come in November or thereabouts.

Length and Width wise the Enzo 946 is perfect for me. It's just that damn instep. It's way too high. I think I'm going to stack two tongue pads on there because I really love the boot. I would order more products from them if there were another last I could try. But Gabriel at Skoab reassured me 946 is the only one that comes in H.

Yeah, it's called "red brown" suede. Mr. Kuti advised me to size up length by one half from P2 to either F or U.

StC is just slightly beyond my means, even at the current Skoab price. Good luck there! :)
