@Leaves I have a stupid question and some normal questions about the leather. Is it actually from a Kudu or just a grained calfskin?

Regardless of the answer to that question, how does it compare to a normal Scotch or Inca or Hatch grained calfskin (softer, stiffer, more/less weather resistant)?

Is that color the same as the oak kudu G&G used in the past or lighter in color?

I'm curious about a Bonafe loafer (model 645) in the kudu for reference.
I can answer some of these for you. It is actually kudu but is embossed as well. It's softer and more supple than scotch, inca and hatch calf. Probably has the slightly less water resistance than scotch/Inca but still very weather resistant and it's a bit more brown than the Peabody stuff from a few years back. Here is a comparison pic

Is that a GG Thorpe in Kudu from the first batch of Kudu we did with G&G in 2015? Because later they changed it and the texture was different.

G&G Vintage Peabody Kudu (made cirka 2015)

G&G Later runs of the Kudu (2016->)

To me at least, the earlier version looked a lot nicer and I think that's what Stead has tried and replicate with Kudu Jamaica. Looks like they did a might fine job judging by that EB boot of yours!

Yes, believe these were 2015. They were all blind eyelets, but I had them switched over to antique brass eyelets and hooks. It definitely has more of a reddish undertone than the newer stuff and this Stead kudu as well.

I agree though that the stuff from Stead looks very nice!

Edit... thought I was in the Skoak thread. Will remove this comment and post in the correct thread.

I’m quite certain a Chukka would look really well in Kudu Jamaica. But maybe a lot of people on SF already have the Tärnsjö Chukka incoming and its a style that would fall in a similar category. Also, a plain to blucher on a last like 363MOD would look great in Kudu. Maybe with visible eyelets?
Interested in a chukka- what would the upcharge be? Thanks.

Kudu incurs no surcharge. So it would be the standard price for a GMTO.

Does Enzo modify the instep for their loafers?
I'm eyeing a pair of loafers in the 363MOD last and I'm wondering if should go tts or .5 size down?

I wear Carmina's uetam last in a UK 9 comfortably and added a tongue pad for my preference of snugness for a loafer.

Just pulled the trigger on these loafers with $210 euro off, couldn't resist:

I also grabbed a pair of loafers, I’m excited for them to arrive.
