I'd say go about a size 10 on the 74945, maybe a 9.5 in 363mod.

It depends on your instep; I prefer the size 10 in 74945, but generally stick with 9.5 due to the high instep on Enzo shoes. It requires some breaking in, but works in the end.

363mod is quite large, so maybe 9.5 there. It depends if rain fits broken in, or out of the box.

I generally wear a 10.5 in 4497s though, and 10 in 4444. I could see myself eventually supposed to go for a 10 in 4497s too, but I prefer the larger fit in Tricker's due to socks; or to be frank - I have not had the chance to try on a 10 and just buys 10.5s because I know they work.

10.5 in W2298 since 10 is too small though.

I have a high instep. I am also planning to get a boot so really not worried about the instep much. What i am worried about is the width of the last. I have wide feet and normally like some room in the toe box to avoid excessive rubbing.

For me the rain was a good fitting last out of the box. it was sung but not tight and has now broken-in/expanded nicely.

I wear my 4497s with medium to thick socks and they are snug with thick socks.

its not very common to wear a half size smaller in the 363 mod vs the 74945. in fact most either wear the same size in both or a half size larger in the 363 mod. the 363 mod does fit shorter than the 74945

Interesting. I think you're better suited to give sizing advice; thanks for clarifying.

363 MOD is a wider last though and I've heard of people sizing up 0.5 to 74945 because it tapers at the toe. I would start with 1 size down from brannock knowing that the instep will be higher than English/ American makers and go from there.

Start with your rain last size in 363 MOD, should be a good fit. Depending on where your feet are wide, you may have to go up 0.5 sizes in 74945. Otherwise you can take same size. I take same size (Rain last size) in 363MOD, 74945, 804 and 946

This!! I've found 363mod, 74945 to be wider than Rain last in the same size. I did find that the 74945 is more forgiving compared to 363mod and rain. I can take a 8.5 in both 363 mod and 74945 but prefer a 9 to have roomier toes, but for 946 it has to be 9uk. Never tried 804 so cant comment.

Then what size would you recommend i go for in either lasts ...

I am a 11E on brannock and have wide feet. I am a UK10 on the Carmina Rain last.

So what you saying is that 74945 is better for wide feet as compared to the Rain last ?

Are you the one who got that MTO?

How do you like them? They're really cool.

Also: if you want to disclose, do you remember how much the croco butterfly cost?

I’ve been really satisfied with them and they’re definitely more versatile than one would think.

I don’t
I don’t exact breakdown but judging from what I paid versus the base cost of Handwelted EB shoes from Skoaktiebolaget plus the MTO fees I would have to say probably $50-75 surcharge for the material itself.

They did mention some added time for CITES paperwork if time is a factor. That said, I don’t think they took much longer to come than any other EB order I’ve placed.

I’ve actually been thinking of a jodhpur in the same color/material mix lately.

Hopefully that helps!

Did you get the paper yourself? I live in Europe, so I guess there was no need for a CITES for my pair.

I got a shark/croco jodhpur. It is a really cool make up with a crocodile strap. I kinda wish I would have let it pop more, but the black/black was the only way to basically make it work since the shark leather was black.

It's an absolute beautiful pair, and I looked at it a long time thinking of that model. Interesting that you could get the brogue as a mod instead of a new pattern. It looks much better with the apron

I didn’t give too much thought to the apron type now that you mention it, but I do tend to prefer brogues aprons on suede butterfly loafers. I’ve been kicking around the idea of a cordovan pair with a sewn apron ridge.

I tend to think less is more for the butterfly facings themselves and like them without decoration.
