1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Can one of you gents give me advice on 363MOD sizing? I'm pretty confident I'm a UK6.5 (need to unload a ton of too-big shoes). According to Skoak's site, 363MOD runs the same size as Carmina Detroit, which would be another half size down from traditional size (or 1.5 sizes down from US size). Thanks!

363 last is definitely roomy, particularly the width. I find it's ok to stay in these size with a pair of boots, since feet swells during afternoon. But if you want a better fitting, then yeah half size (UK) down would be ideal.

Gents, here's the final GMTO proposal. 3 of us are solid on this, still waiting to hear back from the 4th, but would like to give you folks the final specs. We're pretty firm on this, so please keep that in mind when expressing interest.

    EB Balway Boot
    363MOD Last
    Dark Brown Hatch Grain bottom
Inca Dark Brown Shaft (swatches below)
270* Chained-Norvegese stitching, welt cut close to shoe, white/cream thread for chain stitching only (example of StC below)
Dark Brown Welt with matching welt stitching
    Dainite Sole with leather midsole

Total price is $788 with free shipping to USA.

Dark Brown Hatch Grain is top middle, scozia/inca dark brown is bottom right

Another picture of the leather in a different light

An example of how we plan to have the welt cut much closer to the shoe. The stitching will be still be chain stitched.

Please send me a PM if you're interested in joining!

Thanks! Lol very true, hence why we're organizing so far in advance. Need these for the winter months.

Just an update here -- we've gotten the required 5, but there's still room for 2-3 more. Lorenzo will be leaving the GMTO open for a couple more weeks if you'd like to join. Just let me know!

Good point, I didn't even think about the speed hooks or eyelets! I'd want to do the standard 4 eyelets and 3 speedhooks, but with regards to blind vs exposed, I'll ask the gents first and get back to you!

I think speed hooks are a great idea. Three or four, I'm good with either; eyelets, no preference in terms of color etc...

Drumming up interest again! Here's the final specs with pretty much every detail accounted for:

    EB Balway Boot
    363MOD Last
Dark Brown (saddle brown) Hatch Grain bottom
    Inca Dark Brown Shaft
270* Chained-Norvegese stitching, welt cut close to shoe, white/cream thread for chain stitching only (example of StC below)
Dark Brown Welt with matching welt stitching
    Dainite Sole with leather midsole
4 exposed eyelets 3 speedhooks, all dark brown to match
    Natural Lining

    So this model

    in this leather
    [IMG]
(bottom will be hatch grain on left, shaft will be inca on right)

with a welt closely cut like this
    [IMG]
^^shows how norvegese with a closely cut welt will look.

    Please PM if interested!

Not worried it'll be too much grain/conflicting?

Not in the least. With pants, only a little bit of the shaft is going to be shown, the bottom wing and the bottom 2-3 eyelets at most. Focus will still be on the beautiful hatch grain, with a little bit of darkness just above. I'm sure it's going to turn out great.

Agree with too much texture. BUT you guys nailed it with the white/cream chained and the closely trimmed welt. I'm sure it will be a stunner when made up.

We can agree to disagree over the texture :)

I'm super excited to see how they execute a closely cut welt for Norvegese. I think it's such a stunner that you should join the GMTO! You definitely need another pair of boots for that weather in Toronto ;)

The blue version over on Reddit almost had me.... :)

On another note. Any of my narrower fitting friends on here want to rally together and generate some GMTO ideas?

946E is a hair larger than Carmina Simpson from what I can tell.
@cattitude can help guide us with fitting suggestions/advice, its in this thread already. Page 68
