1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Magnificent shoes.

Yes, they are. I am still kicking myself for not buying a pair the last time I was in Italy.

Congratulations. Your Google trawls finally picked up a worthwhile maker.

That's a useful find, Chris "Italia", and an interesting website. I had some thoughts about their shoes when perusing the site. First, I don't particularly like the way they square off the sole at the toe when the upper is rounded. But that's just personal preference; they're obviously wonderful shoes. Another observation: the picture of one of their Blake-stitched shoes should put to rest the myth that Blake-constructed shoes are insubstantial. Also, I found it interesting that they would describe what they claim to be a hand-welting process as "Goodyear" (which refers to the machine that attaches the welt to the insole/upper and to the outsole). I wonder whether their "Norvegese" construction is the real deal or just some decorative side-stitching on a Goodyear-welted shoe. Their lasts are very nice, aren't they! Sleek and stylish.

Is that a good thing? [IMG]

Bonafe are excellent shoes. They also make Aubercy RTW and petite mesure (MTO).

Picked up a pair of shoes from my cobbler (he imports EG, alden, LCA, Paraboot & Bonafe. He did his training as bootmaker and worked a few years @ Bermondsey (was run by David Lobb) he then started as boot maker here, but the market was to small. So he imports & sells some brands and has excellent after sales service [IMG] These where a MTO for the store, = EG but the E.B's with lasted trees. E. Bonafe also do a excellent button up boot (centripede has one on display) They have couple of clients that swear by it. There is a German that has ordered 2pairs a year for the last 15years ... In various combinations of course. Can you imagine 30+ pairs of button up boots Tried on a beautifull Sutor wholecutt, the blue soled version the other day [IMG] It's up there on my wish list ... As is this Bonafe @ boq BAD SF [IMG] Speed

Thanks, but what store is this and where is it located?

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to order a pair of EB myself.
