Ving Rhames appeared on the cover of "Parade" magazine (the Sunday supplement) with a dog that looked like Corso but wasn't. It was an "Ambullneomastiff," which is a creation of a breeder in Orange County, CA. It is a type of bandog created by crossing a Neo-pit bandog with a bullmastiff. A six-month-old youngster I met at the Pet Expo about nine years ago seemed like a tractable animal, but you can't tell a lot about temperament/human-aggression with a dog that young.
Rhames has been a "collector" of exotic mastiff-type dogs for quite a few years, so he might have had Corsos at one point. The dogs I saw on TV were definitely Filas, and there were pix of the Hermes OEB on the Net and in the papers
I don't know much about the composition of Hermes' dogs, but it's obvious he went more for size than most OEB breeders.
