Measurements seem to be on the slimmer side this season - I'm looking forward to more measurements from more shops to confirm.

Outerwear seems to be in line with previous seasons. I noticed some shirts were a bit slimmer but like you said, best to wait for more measurements.

I haven’t bought any EG from the past few seasons, but I’d disagree that they haven’t done anything interesting in the last few years. What they made overlapped with what I already had or sold out in my size before sale season (prices have indeed gotten nuts).

If you’re not treating the many-pocketed look of the earlier years as some sort of paragon, then it’s not hard to see how EG still puts out interesting and thoughtful designs and fabrics that are hard to find from other brands. As another person here mentioned, EG isn’t like other repro/workwear/heritage brands because nothing it makes is completely straightforward or predictable in the ways things from, for example, OrSlow might be. If the remix on those vibes is what you’re into, there isn’t much else that hits that mark quite as well. Also, seems worth noting that whatever season you’re into, EG strikes a balance of being easy to style in pretty laid-back or totally wild fits.

Good question. Doesn't seem like it honestly. I saw a few measurements from Japan and they're still 80+ cm in length.

For what it's worth, people are having the same discussion in the Kapital thread. Quality feels a bit off and I miss the creative outerwear but I still love the brand and always find 1 or 2 things that I can buy at retail price each season. Best thing about EG is it always goes on sale and at 30-50% off, it's worth it in my opinion.

You're probably right, been following him for the past few years and clearly has a strong pulse on design and brands, would not be surprised if he had his hands on everything, especially given that Nepenthes probably only has so many employees.

When we first met everyone at Engineered Garments in 2003, it was comprised of Daiki, Angelo & Todd. Like any organically grown business, each had a skill, all relying on each other to help accomplish the task at hand and all learning along the way. No fountainheads, no egos, no BS just solid work ethic and good partners. Engineered Garments is Daiki's inspiration and it was born from the many collections he sourced in his earlier career, his fashion idols such as Ralph and Randy, his vast collection of vintage apparel and they, collectively, tapped into a trend that hovered just beneath the fringes of workwear as streetwear as fashion.

agreed. I think SS15-FW17~ were my fav seasons. I got into the brand in 15” , and haven’t liked how anything has fit since 2018 seasons.Work shirts too baggy/long, pants too short . Bedford jackets sloppy in size. Honestly if I wasn’t in fashion and didn’t know what EG was if I saw a EG2020 fit with a Bedford/work shirt/fatigues I’d honestly think it’s a Walmart outfit that’s how bad the fit is. Wish they’d actually go back to normal fitting clothes and have outlier pieces like the balloon pants, FAAs, long shirts, and have the work shirts/19th century shirts, fatigues/ground pants*** miss these, painters and bedfords fit normal .

2021 seasons has reignited my love for EG tbh. I love the outdoorsy vibe for the FW season.

Specifically these pieces stand out to me:

Balloon pant with a zip taper and enforced knees? I love the deep brown cord version also featured in the lookbook.

Is this what's called an aviator pant? I love the thigh pocket and the side pockets here as well. Unsure of the functionality but these seem a bit more reasonable to wear for me rather than the FA pant.

Updated aviator jacket in a golden nylon, reminds me of the FW18 version that had a deeper orange. Great colour tbh.

Other than that I think this is one of the best lookbooks of recent years. SS19 lookbook was great but the collection didn't end up being very exciting. Seeing the new pieces here has me really anticipating EG for the first time in over a year.

Agreed. This season looks amazing. The over parka/smock looks like a must buy.

Lots of great stuff. I love the new cover vest design as well, especially in f/w fabrics.

This interliner looks amazing too. Love when they have cool prints like this.

Was considering the denim version of that shirt jacket but I think I'm gonna wait for a sale or something. Ripstop is great but I have too much green/olive.
