B1P in navy blue 6w corduroy just arrived from tbb - how can I describe these pants? luxurious, velvety, sublime? they're fing amazing. perfect weight for fall wear but probably need some thermals underneath for dead of winter.

not many stocking these and already sold out at nepenthes - don't sleep!

a bit unsure of how to style them - really i'm wondering if they're too "wintry" to wear with ss weight bedfords? if so, looks like I need to invest in a fw Bedford this year...sweaters, 19th cent. shirts and fall-weight jackets? what else? hmmmm...

What do you think of the shape of the B1Ps? I stopped by Nepenthes NY a couple days ago and I love the fabric, but they were sold out of all but 36 (I wear a 30). I bought the Fatigue Pants in 8W Cord instead and they're also really nice. I'd like a pair with the 6W fabric but I'm worried that the pleated/more round shape of the B1Ps won't be as flattering to me, as I'm very short. Might look like clown pants...

Can you post a fit pic of B1P's? The navy cashmere are too much for me right now but the black cord are heavy on my mind. Curious to see a fit pic other than tbb or Frans Boone.

I think they're styled after the same pattern as the ghurka pants from last season

hey, benjamin! i'm of the tall/skinny type. i wear 34 in EG pants. for my height, the B1Ps fit wonderfully, imho. the pleats do add slight bulk but not much (for my body) and I think that what bulk there is simply adds to the visual appeal. i really don't think there will be too much balloon vibe even on a shorter frame. hope this helps, mate!

shit photos but it's after sundown here in DC - sorry! will post better pictures with actual styling sometime soon! forgot to mention in the previous post that my prob. with EG trousers is that with the appropriate 34 waist they're always slightly too short - but i guess the cropped look is in these days...

Jackstraw got their Bedfords in, as well.

    • Grey tweed (my favorite)
    • Brown HB
    • Cable knit
    • Navy/black horizontal stripe

The cable knit Bedford is really, really short. My guess is that they wash them after sewing the pieces together and they miscalculated the shrinkage on the fabric – you definitely need to size up.

The brown HB also reads, at a distance, exactly like the brown homespun from last FW. If you missed out on that, you could definitely get one of these.

Also – after the discussion of Nordstrom carrying EG, so I went out there and they hadn't received the shipment yet. They're also stocking Mr. Porter-level priced stuff (Moncler, Givenchy, etc.) so I don't think EG's really much of a stretch.

Re: the B1P pants – I find that the pleats are really inconspicuous because if you wear a jacket, they're completely hidden.

eluther, what color jacket would you rec styling with the navy B1Ps? is the "correct" styling, a lighter top than the trousers? i'm thinking brown or grey wool bedford? would you think that the ripstop bedford from last year would be too much of a contrast of fabrics to pair with the B1Ps? wondering how to style these...thanks for the heads up on the bedfords!
