I received the Coleman in Grey herringbone today, but tbh i find it much too light to use as a winter coat.
The weave is not really tight, when holding it to a light f.i. It easily shines through.
I'm afraid every chilly wind will blow right through, so this one is going back.

Which jacket would better suit my needs as a winter coat, i'm contemplating the Cruiser, quilted Brookline, or North Wood, any other options i'm overlooking?
Thanks in advance.

Quilted Brookline isnt that thick either... you will definitely need to layer up on that jacket.

That's a bummer, i really like the shape and styling of the Brookline...

Problem is my main winter coat is a 40's US navy peacoat, and that sucker is made of 36oz melton wool, so any other coat usually feels light compared to it, it has spoiled me.

yeah... i really liked the brookline as well, but was really surprised by how light it was. I definitely wouldn't pick it up unless it went into the mid-200 dollar range.

I got the North Wood Jacket. I think it should be good for winter... but on the really cold days might have to layer up a lot. Its not thick nor thin, in between i'd say.

Soho Bloomingdales carries EG. Copped the Canvas Charcoal Bedford. Some JP dudes were there buying up the rest of the sparse rack...

I beat them by a few moments - they were eyeballing me carrying the M bedford!
They grabbed everything in S and some pieces in M as I saw it.

^ Floral Baker is something serious. Good luck with the sales.
