I have this bag from the 2004 season in a cotton lined wool llannel. My wife uses it more often then I do, (I carry a first season Varvatos calfskin when I am not using my utilitarian and cheap Timbuk2 messenger). At that time it was only being carried by Odin and Drinkwaters. A few more stores have it now though. I am not going to get another version of it, but thought I'd recommend it as a good man-bag. It is big enought to carry lots of stuff and never, ever be mistaken as a purse when carried as a messenger, and is spacious enough in backpack form for weekenders. Anyway, just thought that I'd share the love.

Oh, and if Drinkwaters carried the bag (the wool flannel and the canvas, for $235, vs Steven Alan's $275, retail). So to plug a friend, his prices are definitely lower than NYC prices by a significant margin.

I knew about this (and think I mentioned it in my favorite stores post), but I definitely didn't know they had marked it down even more. Thanks a lot, man. 'tis mine.

Because of this post, I found out they lowered prices on all of their sale items. A Trovata polo is now mine. Thanks LA Guy!

So they did! Wow, LA Guy (and you Dill because I never would have double checked the other items) get many, many StyleForum points for this. So um, yeah...Trovata polo and EG bag 'tis mine.

*EDIT*: OK, two additions. LA Guy, can you tell me how this compares in quality to a Jack Spade piece? I'm just curious. Also: someone convince me to buy this. I've wanted it ever since I first saw it, however I don't really need it. I mean, I could use it as I usually carry around a bevy of cameras or my SIDstation along with my laptop and BlackBerry and I sure could use extra room. However, I don't need it. And the bag doesn't match my Jack Spade, and I'm OCD. So yeah...convince me so I can buy this baby!
