End-to-end custom coat in NYC

Hi friends,

First post so please feel free to point me elsewhere if this is not the right place. I've been trying to find an AW00 Helmut Astro Parka in this specific makeup and size S: https://huibenshop.com/products/helmut-lang-wool-angora-astro-biker. Obviously that's proven difficult and I've gotten to the point of looking at a heavily inspired one custom made. I'm located in NYC and found Moore's, who quoted me $4500 for consultation + patterning + fittings, etc. Since the shop is Vegan, we wouldn't do the fur collar but I figure I can get recycled fur added afterwards. I'm wondering if anyone has experience doing this and whether or not that's a reasonable price given my location and the particular piece.

If anyone has other recommendations for tailors or shops that have created completely custom pieces, that'd be great as well.

Custom casualwear is a bad idea. Not only would it be hard, if not impossible, to find the fabric on that coat, but it would take a few iterations to get the paper pattern right, so the garment hangs in the right ways.

Thanks for the response. I know I can't find the exact fabric but there are other textured mohair blends that I would be okay with. Your point about the drape stands though. I'm not sure if this particular vendor will do multiple rounds of patterning but that's a good thing to ask. Maybe the only way is really just to luckily stumble upon one for sale.
