Did anyone else watch this travesty last night?

I'm happy that Mad Men, 30 Rock and John Adams were recognized. Jeremy Piven was funny in his acceptance speech and Don Rickles was great.

Other than that, if you're going to honor the best of television, don't you think you should try and put on a quality show. Maybe some of the writers you're honoring could be drafted to help with the show in the future?

Josh Groban's performance was the only highlight of the night.... the rest was pure garbage.

With The Wire being snubbed yet again, I find I can no longer even consider watching this. It's a popularity contest, not an award of excellence.

Laurence Fishburne and William Peterson were probably the worst-dressed male presenters. They also looked strangely alike facially, or maybe not so strangely - as friends often resemble each other.

Most of the men wore appropriate colors and tuxes, but many or most had fit issues and wore long ties. A few wore their ties much too short, and many guys were rushing to button their jackets as they headed to the stage.

You don't expect comments on anything but style, do you?

The reason The Wire doesn't win is because you have to actually watch the show. There is no tag line, two line synopsis or ten second soundbyte to encapsulate the show. It was a sprawling ensemble work with twisting plot lines about the type of people and situations that most viewers use TV to escape from. If it was just The Adventures of Jimmy McNulty then Dominic West would have probably gotten an award.

I can imagine that HBO ate a lot of money on the project since it didn't really become a huge sensation like The Sopranos, but I have to take my hat off to whoever kept the show funded for five seasons. Also, from what I have read HBO let David Simon and Ed Burns do what they wanted to do and that too is remarkable.
