Long story, but I am working on a piece of ethnic clothing that I require for a special upcoming event.
Tradition would dictate I wear a silk shirt with embroidered (I think that's the right word, but we're talking about a white-on-white pattern done in raised relief) patterns. However, I hate silk shirts, as I find them hot, sticky, and uncomfortable. I'll already be wearing a silk brocade top garment, so I'd like a more comfortable underlayer.
Problem is it has to look passable with the brocade "robe" I'll have over top.
I'm going to have all these garments made up bespoke so the sky is really the limit. I was thinking about using my HK tailor to make this garment up for me but I would like to source the material myself and do this CMT, if possible. Does anyone know where to go or whom I might contact to find something like this? Bonus points for shops in HK or the US eastern seaboard where I might be able to finger the goods in person.
Thanks.
