Just a quick pic of an outfit I am considering here for...I think the shirt is a little ostentatious...my lady friend thinks its elegant... what do you think, and why? Spaniard

close up of the shirt cuff - the piece I'm thinking of getting rid of.

Ummm I cant vote because uninspired is not an option. Really everything is ok but I dont like the pocket square. At least pick a square with a design. The plain tie and plain pocket square makes the outfit look bland. Or you can add a color to the otherwise simple color palette with the pocket square.

yeah, I say the combination's not bad- but if it was me I'd put in a white linen PS with a TV fold.

Shirt is fine. The pocket square doesnt pop because it just blends with the shirt and its a subdued tone. Lavender is not a powerful color. Like acidic said white pocket square with tv fold is the obvious and best choice.

you dont have to use all of one color.

Way too matchy matchy.

swap the tie out for a navy pindot, and the square for a solid white TV fold in linen.

I agree the. The pocket square is the biggest issue. Otherwise I think it looks alright.

It is neither elegant nor gaudy, meaning you can safely wear it anywhere without turning heads one way or another. Congratulations!

Way too much purple. And non-cream solid color silk squares almost always look bad.

The shirt is the only thing that looks alright to me here.
