Electirfying shave!

Gentlemen, Sorry to post this here, but no one's in the Body Consciousness forum. To look your professional best, anyone have suggestions for a really good electric razor? I've used a fairly expensive Norelco from time to time, but I find that it still leaves a "3:30" shadow even in the morning. Maybe I'm not doing it right. Or not using the right pre-shave or model. Anybody have any good/bad experiences with electric razors? I'd try using it in the shower, but the results might be more shocking than what I'd hoped for.

Thanks for whatever suggestions/advice you have to offer. P.S. Yes, I know the topic says "Electirfying." Sheesh. Everybody's an editor.

i gave up on electrics years and years ago...not close enough, it pulled my stubble, irritated my skin, etc. i used the triple rotating heads...i guess it was norelco?

but i'd be interested to hear if there is a new killer electric model out there. or even an old one that works well.

in my experience the (non electric) mach3 gives the closest shave without irritation/ingrown hairs. haven't tried the new 'mp3' or whatever it's called.

The new Braun Syncro electric shavers work well and have good reviews http://www.epinions.com/well-Persona...zors-All-Braun I'm one of those people who have always used an electric, so I can't really compare it to a blade. I've always been satisfied with Braun Shavers. I don't work for them

this is coming from a guy with a very tough beard. supposedly electrics work better for us. if i use a wet blade, i'll have a clean looking shave but i'll still feel stubble on my face. if i use my braun shaver, my face feels silky smooth, but i'm left with a five o' clock shadow. so for the last couple of years i've been using both. i start with a wet blade to give a clean appearance. then i dry my face and go over it again with the braun to get rid of the courseness and to cut some of the more stubborn hairs. i've decided recently that i'm going to go unplugged from now on. i'll be buying a mach3 turbo sometime today (i've had a sensor until now) and i'll be ordering those cryogenically frozen blades that we discussed on another thread. i'll let you guys know how things turn out.

I use a Braun Syncro every morning and it's the best electric shave I've ever had.

I enjoy a wet shave (badger brush and the rest of the ritual) on Saturday afternoons. While the wet shave feels better, if I rely only on it I have more beard after twelve hours than I have with the Braun and so I use it as a complement rather than a mainstay.

Thanks for all the input. I suppose we could "split hairs" over the difference between manual and electric, but I never thought of doing both. Hmmmmmm. I'll have to try that out on some of my "quills." Thanks, you smoothies, you.

However, regarding the topic, despite trying many of the electric razors, I cannot get a good shave with them, and go back to blades.
For a really close shave, I will shave, wash my face in almost hot water and then shave again. This seems to work for me.

Thanks for the input. Isn't it amazing how involved shaving can be, sometimes? (And no, Classic; that wasn't my ulterior motive. I'm a writer, not a comedian...but it's not a bad IDEA.)
