Thank you and mea culpa! And I saw that DB in the A/W collection as well... I should venture out of the "friendly" confines of Bloomingdales more often...

nevermind! just saw it's sold out evidently. that said they explained to me they could do MTM with the eidos books from last season (presuming fabrics are still available), and presumably that would mean they'd do the Ciro

We can do any cut MTO/MTM. You can even opt for a different trousers style - we've had customers order a suit in NMWA style for the jacket and Sal trousers

Just received the indigo cotton pea-coat from Gentry and I just have a question about the purpose of a hook and a clasp on each side of the jacket. It is situated inside around the waist. Does anyone else have one? Will take a photo when I get a chance. Thanks!

Probably so you can wear them unbuttoned and still have some shape on the double breast

    This.

All our double breasted outerwear is cut with all interior buttonholes cut so that the jackets lapels can be fastened back on themselves and converted to a single breasted silhouette. The hook and eye allows you to close the jacket if you want.

I was looking at the Eidos tuxedos that were for sale at Bloomingdales for my father and noticed that the ones there have belt loops. Is there any reason for that? We like it apart from that but are contemplating passing on it due to the nontraditional nature of the belt loops for a tuxedo. Thanks.

You can have a tailor remove the loops.

    Wait, you smell that?

Are there buttons for braces or side tabs? It would be hard for me to wear pants without at least one of those (belt, braces, tabs), even if the waist was tailored.

Extremely easy for a tailor to add buttons for braces if that is all that is stopping you. Side tabs would be a more difficult proposition I would think.

Not sure why that's showing as sold out. We do have a 48 still available.

As for MTO/MTM, we're pretty limited on what we can do this season, but I'm willing to help in any way I can. PM me for info.

I would be willing to bet that Bloomie's demanded belt loops on their trousers out of fear that the average (relatively unintelligent) customer would balk at anything else. Plus, then they can try to sell you a new belt at the same time (I find it very unlikely that they carry proper braces).

It seems they have done this with many items, demanding shorter jackets and lower rise trousers. Bloomie's is filled with the GQ crowd, you know.

I agree that you should have a tailor take off the loops and add buttons. It will be very cheap compared to the overall cost of the item
