I like scrambling in some ham (97% fat free) or a 2-3 slices of light salami when they're nearly done cooking. Adds plenty of flavor. Adding in a single yolk never adds enough flavor to be worth it, in my opinion.

They scramble like normal, they're tasteless, I usually add in some whole eggs as well.

I get mine from Egg Whites International. I eat a lot of them, usually 1cup + 4 whole eggs, so they are cheaper than buying the egg whites at the supermarket or separating them from whole eggs.

Just drop the ratio of yolks to whites you use. But around half the protein in an egg is in the yolk, so there's no point in declaring war on them.

egg whites get expensive since there's not a whole lot per egg (one egg white is like 4 g protein) also i hate sounding like a broken machine, but your body produces 70% of cholesterol and it adjusts the level it produces to accommodate the amount of cholesterol you consume. in other words disregard cholesterol intake. there's also quite a few well done studies (review here) showing that eating eggs yolks do nothing for your hdl, ldl levels or serum blood cholesterol levels. one of them had patients eat 3, 4 eggs a day with a yolk and after several weeks observed no or a little beneficial change to typical cardiovascular risk markers. ie its not unhealthy to eat yolks. however i would agree that egg whites are an easy way to cook a protein rich meal if you're trying to cut bodyfat, just a little expensive. when i did rfl a typical lunch would be a dozen egg whites ([IMG] threw the yolks away. should've made mayo for refeed days) and chicken paillard with some sambal oelek and a big salad and a pound of broccoli.

An egg is like 60-80 calories. A fuck ton of protein and nutrients. It's vilification as a source of harmful fats has been disproven, quite soundly, over the last decade.

You eat cookies and chocolate bars, and you're worried about your intake of eggs?

I love them sunny side up. slightly runny. There is a certain taste to them.

Egg yolks have some nutrients too, like choline.

How can you have a sunny side without any yolks?[IMG]

Half the protein of the egg is in the yolk because the yolk is more than half of the egg by volume. Egg whites are pure protein. There is no downside to eating them and leaving out the yolk, other than missing out on some key vitamins in the yolk that are hard to come by otherwise. Point is, yolks aren't to be villified or anything. But they're not necessary. Primarily, they add calories (by way of fat) to the overall meal. Yes, we know that fat isn't the bad guy it's been made out to be. But it still packs a lot of calories, and calories are calories. A plate of egg whites contains fewer calories (and more protein) than the same volume of mixed whites and yolks.

No, they are not that many calories. A whole egg is between 60-80 calories. On what fucking planet does that mean "a lot?"Assuming you eat three eggs, which is fairly filling and very nutritious, that's no more than 250 cal. Please respond logically. Keep in mind that a plate full of egg whites is expensive, extremely bland, probably fucking disgusting, and far from a complete protein. It isn't sustainable for a person that enjoys food. An egg with a yolk beats it in every conceivable way, and the calories are still very low. Only in fucking america would anyone eat just egg whites. And funny enough, it's fat people doing it.

OK, egg whites suck. I threw in one whole egg and there was still no flavor, and now I'm hungry. Back to the real deal for me.

Or just check out the "best hot sauce" thread. Egg whites are boring as hell, but they serve a purpose.

I don't get that... so sriracha is obesity's answer to blandness?

That's what happens when you lose all of that saturated fat
