Do not pronounce it in poncy French style, something like: Böll-jöh.
At EG they pronounce it the English way: Booleigh.

It should be BYOO-LEE. It is a town in England. Where there have a very nice motor museum, actually. It's in Hampshire.

I wonder why the Beaulieu gets that popular all of a sudden.
I ordered a MTO 82 in burgundy red in March, and when I received the shoe in June it wasn't a special shoe any longer, since nearly everbody seems to have discovered a love for the Beaulieu, especially on the 82 last.
If I am really lucky, EG will take this model into their regular catalogue at regular prices...[IMG]
O h well - I guess good taste simply rules!

On a side note: has anybody ever seen a black Beaulieu on 888? I've once seen a picture (probably in the shoe pictorial index) and it plainly looks dull.

Maybe it's down to you. A few months back, it was 'Shannon' everywhere. You might have created a trend!

Well, at least part of it was simply that a bunch of them showed up in the sale, and it seemed to have turned into the shoe of this sale, perhaps because it was an oxford that was plentifyl in a number of sizes.

It should definitely be pronounced Boh-lyoo. I will never call it bouley. Appalling.

If you speak four languages you are quadralingual.

If you speak three languages you are trilingual.

If you speak two languages you are bilingual.

If you speak one language you are English.

Happened by the EG sale at Old England, which I got wise to over the winter. Picked up the infamous Wildsmith loafer, aka EG Harrow, in Edwardian antique. Awesome shoe. I always wanted an EG with the skin-stitching and the various permutations on the Dover never did it for me.

Hmm, should I regret that I ordered the Hythe instead of the Beaulieu?

Totally. Put the box in the PATH with my name on it and I'll take care of the unwanted puppy [IMG]

Burgundy is really EG's sweet spot color IMO. Everyone of their shoes that I see looks better in burgundy than any other shade
