It will never work and they jacket is ruined. Send it to me for, uhh, incineration.

...

Actually, this is a very common thing and any competent tailor should be able to do it.

Yes, however with that tweed type of fabric there would be difficulty in taking them off later if you don't like them afterwards.

Some tailors can work with leather, some can't. You might want to find someone who specializes in leather regardless.

I don't think it's a bad idea since it worked alright with the bedfords this year. If you like elbow patches and you really need protection against wear, then do it. I would be concerned with adding more details to the Norfolk, which already has a lot of details to deal with. Sometimes less is more.

Oh, well not really leading up to much, more a curiosity of why you wanted them as I think the jacket is styled quite well as is... So if you're worried about wear that's fine. Stylistically speaking, I merely find them somewhat stuffy and give a slightly neg academic connotations on sportcoat-type jackets for young people. Even more so in contrasting colors and textures. I've talked to others in this age range that feel similarly. I admit I don't know you're age and/or goals for your look. So these opinions may not apply.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
