For those who own shoes in both lasts, do you fit well in the same size and width for both lasts. My experience is that when I fit well in a particular size in last 606, the same size in last 888 feels tighter.

What is your experience?

Will - by "E," I'm assuming you mean a British E, or regular width?

And many of us stuff our feet in the English D width imported by RLPL as a "medium" width. However the EG leather is so wonderfully supple it will stretch to a comfortable fit.

I can help little as I only own the 888 in D fittings (RLPL shoes) and one 606 in 8.5E from the UK. The 606 is much wider, but I suspect that is because of the E width plus the slightly wider last.

I am going to order a 8.5E in the 888 if available tomorrow to try it.

Can someone confirm that an 82 fits like a rounded 888, and the 202 fits like a half-width larger than an 82?

The 82 is a longer shoe than the 888, and in a monk, for example, I need a smaller width than I do for an oxford or my foot slides back and forth.

EG's lasts are not identical width and if you fit in one of them you will probably find another shoe of the same type (ie, oxfords or casuals) wearable, but perhaps not comfortable. There's no guarantee other than trying them on.

Although this extends the thread a bit, I find the 89 last wider than the 606 in equivalent width and I find the 101 longer than the 888. And since that is a loafer last it can make the shoe harder to wear as it may slip at the heel.

THANKS!!! I always wanted to know how those were related, seeing as the PRL shoes often come on the 89...
