I ran across a couple of suits yesterday marked down from about $1400 to $600, by Edwin Nazario. They looked quite nice, but I had never heard of the guy. One in particular, a Super 150s chalkstripe SB, I tried not to look too closely because I really shouldn't buy it, but it appeared to be canvassed with serious padstitching under the lapel and tasteful (not obvious) pickstitching arond the lapels and pockets, etc. Anyone ever seen these before? Comments? I found his site: http://www.edwinnazario.com/main.html

They look beautiful. $600 certainly isn't a bad deal by any means for a stylish full canvas suit that you can buy from a bricks and mortar.

Found a little more info: apparently he is a Canadian designer out of Toronto and his full line is carried by Holt Renfrew. I will go back and look at that suit today, as I have to return something right by there anyway.

H. I have heard of him -- my old dormmate specifically mentioned him as "cutting a great suit." I don't think my dormmate was particularly well schooled in high quality clothing, but he refused to wear anything of lesser quality than Canali, so I trust that he knew something when he praised Nazario.

I knew I shouldn't have asked... I'll lock my wallet in the car when I go in there. Thanks for the info.

Edwin Nazario does reside in Toronto and is designing his own line of clothing. Edwin was a rep for Giorgio Armani for many years and is a very tasty guy.
His clothing line is manufactured in Italy by Caruso and is one of those lines you don't want to tell to many people about. It's terrific stuff.

Against my better judgment I went back and looked at that suit. It fits me extremely well, being a Euro 51, where I usually take a 40 or 42R. Luckily, I managed to get out of there without justifying it to myself. Anyone in the Seattle area, it's at Butch Blum in University Village and they are closing down the shop, so clearing out everything. The girl there told me this is the last round of markdowns, and then the remaining inventory will move downtown.
