Hi,
I'd like to ask members of the forum what your opinion is on Edward Green shoes? How do they compare with makes like Tricker's and Crockett & Jones and Church's? Also I heard they use a wooden shank instead of a steel one. Ie was suggested that wood had a memory, however, would wood loose it's properties over time due to degradation (age, moisture). I'd appreciate your opinion, many thanks.

This as well as "shank less" shoes have been discussed to ... But in the end it is a personal thing, what brand, finish and style satisfy your needs. For your budget of course, to easy to get a head of one self

I own a RLPL/EG Montgomery wing tip monk strap and a C&J (made for Brooks Brothers) wing tip monk strap

I prefer the additional brogueing on the EG and prefer the 888 last over C&J's rounded last....however

I could wear the EG shoe longer throughout the day and my feet would not get as tired as when I wear the C&J

Keep in mind per retail, the EG sold for twice as much as the C&J.
