Although the seller does not mention the name and compares the shoes to Church's, those are definitely Edward Green shoes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....me=WDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....me=WDVW Black shoes: style: Cadogan; size 10 (English), 10 ½ (American), Fitting E; last 202. (I cannot read the markings in the oxblood shoes, but I presume very much they are the same size.) They are not my size and might be going cheap, as the name EG doesn't get mentioned. The oxblood shoes have an enormous build-up of old wax, but I presume a rubdown with surgical spirit will cure that. If they are your size and you want to find out what all that Edward Green fuss is about, you might want to bid.

No, these aren't Edward Green. They are House of Dormeuil, just like the seller says. Plasticky, cemented shoes. I had a pair once and I had to go to the hospital with blisters. The soles fell off after three wearings. I don't know where you are getting your information from. Avoid this auction like the plague.

The shoes carried at the old (now defunct) Dormeuil store on 67th Street were definitely made by EG. I don't know if they were called "House of Dormeuil", though, or whether shoes with that name were sold somewhere else.

Methinks JohnnyN. perhaps has a size 10 foot???

By the way, I've got a pair of Dormeuil shoes with identical insoles that were made by Edward Green.

No, no. I believe you are mistaken. Pay no attention to this auction.

jn3: Did you get yours from the short-lived Dormeuil retail store on East 67th Street? Those were EG. They were even sold in green EG boxes.

[IMG] Seroiusly, though, you would really want used shoes that someone else's feet have been sweating in for who knows how long? [IMG]

What are great are the new Whitcomb and Shaftesbury shoes.  My MDs wear nothing but.  That's right, they come into work wearing nothing but a pair of shoes.  I am having my trial fitting and then expect to take delivery next week.
For $125 they will make a fully bespoke shoe with a bevelled waist, hand stitching, the finest French Alpine calf tested for durability, hand antiquing, the finest leather soles tested for durability, handsewn linen feather, with trees and bags.
    JRman (don't shoot me)
