I stopped in at Richard's last night and drove over to Mitchell's this morning. Both stores are having sales right now, but i am not sure how long they last. The salesman at Richard's told me that Thursday was the first day of "second markdown".

Between them they had about 20 prs of EGs on sale for $425. The funny thing is that every single pair were Chelseas on the 202 last and they were all Chestnut colored. I guess they are selling all their inventory of this style. I actually like this shoe better than any of their EG's that aren't on sale.

If for no other reason, peole should visit Richards just to see how well-run the store is and the phenomenal customer service. I'd rate them as the best-run store I've been to and I've been to many. Full disclosure, I live in Greenwich, CT. The Chamber of Commerce would also be pleased to see me suggest that you spend the day on Greenwich Ave visiting Richards and other wonderful stores. Stilleto

Actually I have a pretty different opinion of the place.  Nice merchandise, but not very good (or knowledgeable) customer service.  Maybe I just have had some poor experiences there, but it has been consistently below average for me.  For great customer service in the area I recommend Fairfield Clothier.  Blows Richard's away.

Very nice selection, but I would have to agree with AAA about the sales people... I am a 42L and honestly I think could out on a 38S and they would tell me it was made for me... Salesman told me that if I liked the fit of Borrelli I would love Oxxford too as they were very close in style, hhhmmm since they didn't have any Kiton in my size I was told it would be too boxy anyway??? LOL... But if you now what you want and need, there selection is well above average in both suits and shoes... Plus Greenwich Ave. is a real nice way to spend an afternoon...
