Everyone is posting sale dates, I might as well chime in.

Edward Green at Burlington Arcade will begin this year's sale on June 23. Unlike Weston and Santoni, they do accept orders through email and phone. Shoes usually at 400 GBP will drop to 250GBP.

Hhhmmm....Should wait on this sale, order that second pair of C&J's, or wait on more Grensons from Bennie's.? Decisions, decisions.

I would try Greens on in person before placng any orders. Sizes may be diifferent on different lasts and before you commit that much scratch to a transatlantic transaction you should definitely try and nail the size...

Having spent an hour trying on different sizes and lasts until I found a comfortable match I couldn't agree more, even on sale its a lot of dough to shell out for something that has a good possibility of not fitting correctly.

Can someone provide a list of stores in North America that sell EG shoes? I suspect I may be some distance away from any of them.

Saks NYC
Jay Kos
Asprey (1-2 models)
Polo RL (Rhinelander Mansion and a few large stores)

Sky Valet Washington DC

Malouf's Burlingame CA

Mitchells of Westport and Richard's of Greenwich
Boyd's Philadelphia

In Canada I know that L'Uomo or one of those big stores in Montreal carries/carried Greens. Not sure who would carry it in Vancouver. I don't know if Holt Renfrew does.

That's all I can think of.

L'Uomo in Montreal (actually, quite a tiny shop on Peel St.) is the only Canadian retailer to carry Edward Green. If there was a shop in Vancouver that carried them, my mortgage would surely go unpaid...

Holt's shoe selection (managed by Brown's, but only for the next year or so) is absolute dreck, as is Harry Rosen's.

EG should be able to provide you with this information if you send them an email in the "contact" portion of the website.

I wouldn't call Allen Edmonds 'dreck' but I agree that the selection of good men's shoes in Vancouver is extremely poor.

I haven't been able to find a local source for Alden's never mind any of the British makers.

I was thinking more of their Prada selection - didn't mean to tar AE with that brush.

Any source for EG in the midwest? I assume Chicago would be most likely.

Maus & Hoffman for anyone in Florida sells EG. They are labeled EG Made for Maus & Hoffman, so I don't know if they fit the same as regular EG.

They still do, huh? About 4 years ago M&H was trying to get rid of some Malvern spectators for $400 on its website. I figured around then that they were discontinuing Green.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
