The Charwell is a nice shoe and I like the doublesole too. You will not wear the shoes often, so if you have a small shoe collection, black or brown (calf or suede) would be better.

Once you have a good range of shoes, you need a statement shoe and this could be it. The green would be a better option (in my opinion) because of the darkness of the suede and from a distance can look black; however, you may want a f*ck-off shoe, if so get the red suede.

I know we have an extensive EG thread around here, but I can't seem to find it. I have a friend who's going to London this wknd and I'd like to pick out one shoe. I like the non-kiltie chestnut loafers, all of the monks, and the lighter suede derby.

I bought a pair of Greens 10 years ago on the 202 last at 9.5/10. It was a bad experience. Too tight. Had to sell them.

I have wide feet- E in A-E. D in Alden. Width fine in Vass.

imo, the toe cap stitching is too rustic.

Taking of suede shoes I was looking at these in M&S the other day but they seemed more blue in the shop and the stitching matched. Not sure they're worth £70 though

Very nice and look Goodyear too. M&S sources lotsa shoes from Northhampton.
