After the Drake's assistant's reaction about how fast things sold I am sure they will be getting new stuff in a.s.a.p. I am not in a position to make any promises though.

Called the number on Time Out

Edward Green - will be stocking new shoes when they have a chance, he did advise it is worth coming again or going in the evening when it should be quieter.

Drakes - new delivery of stock due today, but he was not sure when it will arrive or if they will be stocking today. He could not comment on shirts and pocket squares.

Yup, would probably have a field day if I was there (6.5/7E here)... maybe we'll catch a break here across the pond in the future. :)

Sounds like there's some proxy love from our overseas brethren, just nothing come my way . . .

Someone please think of me if you happen to see a brown dover, malvern, sandringham in UK 9.5E.

    Please, remember Lend-Lease, Dunkirk, D-Day . . .

I should remove any paid proxy request for 11/11.5 EG since its against the spirit. Although, proxy was commonly done before, and I have done it myself at no markup for other members. Its all good. :slayer:

If anyone wears 8.5e and wants shoes from the sample sale without a proxy fee, PM me. My friend got 5 shoes, 1 for himself and 4 for me (I only asked for two shoes). Thank God for the limit being 5 pairs because he could have ended up buying more shoes.

He got me a nice PoW wool tie and I will be going on Friday to get some ties.

    quick points:

    • queue too long if you arrived around opening time

    • the best thing was the fauna in the queue (ebay fiends, fashion victims -how many leopard thick glasses can this world handle. then there was the gent with the sharp suit, huge wrist watch and "native american beads" around the wrist (whatever those stringy bracelets are called), black city shoe wearing slaves to the system (yes they are fashion victims too)

    • when i got in (i am guessing I was in the 20-30 range) , i could only see £295s and mostly £395s so even if there were a couple of 80%s around , using that in the announcement was not good form. For the last couple of years I have been buying at £400 at my own leisure with a room just for myself in the Northampton factory whenever if feel like dropping by -so not impressed. Even in Jermyn street you get £450s during sales

    • since i have big feet 11/11.5 (UK/US) i am guessing from the looks of the crowd ahead of me that I did not loose much to those first 20 or so. Bought three pairs , the best deal being a £295 Whisky Cordovan Oundle with a tiny defect. When I got home noticed I had bought something close to a repeat so may put it up for sale in B&S
