Can anyone comment on how the unlined Piccadilly ages, especially in suede?

I've always been reluctant to buy unlined shoes as I fear they'll end up looking a bit limp or stretched out. But, I have a high instep and wearing in an ordinary Piccadilly sounds like an ordeal by all accounts...

Sounds like you should skip it all together. Lined vs unlined doesn't alter the fit much ime

Anyone got any fit notes for 72 vs 64, purely in toe box space really. I know 72 is slightly longer and higher instep/volume.

72 is bigger in the toe box too. As a bit of a guide I’m 8 in both, but with thin socks for 64 and thick ones for 72.

How big of a difference is there between an E and F width Galway? Last 64 if that matters.

Visually f width looks way bigger than E in my experience, can't speak for fit. I don't think the patterns scale well up to F width most of the time.

Agreed, 82 last looks good in F last. I bet 64 looks okay too. I'm not a fan of it on 202 at all, looks short and blobby imo

64 vs 72 last - width same, toe box deeper on 72 and broader on 64. My feet are wide-ish and I have a moderately high instep and find old lasts like the 64 don’t fit me well - not deep enough and too short. I can fit into F fit on both in my usual size but cannot wear thick socks for either last.

I'm trying to decide on a size for Galway in black London grain. Are they more casual that I'll wear them with thick winter socks or more formal and I'll wear them with thin dress socks. With the thick socks I'll get an 8UK, otherwise half a sz smaller

IF the larger size actually works with ball placement etc go for that, can always add an insert if you want to wear them formally but cant do it in the reverse situation.
