A little snow on the ground today but it’s warming up some.

Surprised to get my first DHL delivery of the DOAK Berkeleys. Absolutely perfect although I would have preferred a bit more care on packaging as the fine shoe box they are in had a broken seam. The green box was inside another box but sadly was not wrapped in bubble wrap or the like before they placed it in the outer box. But that's a minor quibble given the pristine shoes and super fast shipping.

Weather was dismal in Atlanta today so I will wait and post better photos tomorrow.

Here is the first pair. The burgundy Chelseas cleared customs so maybe I get those by tomorrow.

I also have three bespoke pairs and numerous sneakers and driving loafers. I like Lattanzi, Santoni, Allen Edmonds, Berluti, Lobb, and Cobbler Union.

EGs remain my favorite though. They literally last decades with good care and rotation. The classic looks never go out of style either.

They may be an MTO, I can’t see them in any of the old catalogues I have. They don’t appear to be Belgravia- the cord isn’t there on the sides.

100 last is the worst fitting EG last I’ve ever owned, in a couple of dozen or so pairs, it fitted very small for the stated size.

101 last is the same as 100. Both have low instep and narrow toe box. Can be very painful first 12-15 wears. But then they fit fine and are quite elegant.

That’s interesting - several years ago now, but I got a pair on 100 and a pair on 101 at around the same time. The 101 were snug but eventually broke in, the 100 were always uncomfortable and ripped my feet to shreds and I ended up getting rid of them.

One of my favorites. It’s not as red as the color indicates. Like a blood orange kind of color. Love it on country calf.
