If you want a similar profile R2. If you are okay with a little sole peaking through i much prefer Ridgeway. Made by the same company but feels so much softer plus has a better gripwhat's the better alternative?
I
I understand R2 is the double sole version of R1, so rubber only. The decision between R1 or R2 would depend on the profile one wants, if slimmer/dressier or chunkier/“country”.
I might be wrong, but don’t think I see those options as frequently on retailers as RTW vs. Dainite.
Thanks! You’re correct about Dainite being a much more widely found option on RTW selections. However EG has started using the R1, R2, and even tapered rubber sole a lot more as of late. Frans Boone usually has some non-Dainite selections. Stefan swore off Dainite in his shop and usually goes with R1 over a leather mid on his non boot offerings (it’s so good). @steveyoo1983 usually has something going on with one of those soles.
The first time I ever tried the R1 was on an unlined suede Dover and I’ve loved it ever since.
For EG? R1 or R2 sole. Full stop.what's the better alternative?
