Receiving the call Friday from Leffot and the shoes today made me smile also.... some good news in the middle of the storm.

Go for it Shawn... they take a while to make though. I ordered mine last July and they were just delivered today.

New arrivals from Cavour (@kevinsvindland) today. Galway Shearling in London Grain and Mink Suede. Took them out for a quick walk with my ferocious hound before dark.

I haven’t seen a lot of the EG crup posted. I’d love to hear impressions, the finishing seems different from Alden. Also has anyone done MTO crup?

The last EG MTO I did through Leffot took nearly a year!

A year? No offense to EG, but it isn’t bespoke. That seems excessive.

I never really got a straight answer from Leffot. This was at the now defunct Chicago location. I kept getting excuses like quality control as well as the pilfering of experienced craftsmen by a new, rival shoemaker.

I finally emailed EG directly and expressed my frustration. That seemed to get the ball rolling.

I'm an unabashed Alden guy and am fortunate enought to have some really nice rare birds in my boot collection. I never thought a pair of calfskin boots would jump to the top of my list but these are simply incredible. It is more than coincidental that after 4 years, I changed my avatar.

Congrats on a great score and likely at a great price.

It was about 8 months from order to delivery.
