This is exactly what gives it it's appeal. Hits the mark for some, and misses it for others. I think it looks like a great casual shoe for that very reason.

I can see creasing being a concern with the brogue, however all in all it seems to work well for you. Thanks for sharing as this kind of helps me get better acquainted with shoe and what to look for. I'm kind of going back in forth between Chestnut and Edwardian.

Also, just to muddy things up a bit, the windsors above are in acorn which you might want to consider. its essentially in that edwardian/pine family and it does seem to develop a nice patina over time. I would say its somewhere in between the two leather colors you're considering.

Exactly. There are plenty of other more mundane models to consider. I think the excessive broguing goes over the top in an elegantly refined manner :)

The Falkirk is unique. Too much broguing for me, however (and I like broguing in general).

I want a Falkirk in Edwardian specifically, also in the 82 last (not the 202). Sadly, it's the EXACT model that SkoAB (@leaves) planned... oh well, I'll wait for a re-run if it's decided in the future. :D

^^^^ Sounds nice! I've never seen the Falkirk in Edwardian, but I'm sure it would be lovely. I can, however, vouch for the 82, which I think is a much better choice than the bulbous 202 (unless you go with a narrower width).

I agree the 82 would be the way to go. I may have to wait for the re-run as well, although if they take to long I may just get it on my own.

Although it's not the same as seeing it in person, did you see the pair on Skoaktiebolaget's website?

I think whatever color I finally choose I'll have to come back and get something in one of the other colors the next time. I may go for the opposite extreme now (Edwardian) already having Doak, and then choose something in the middle ground later (Chestnut or Acorn).

    Thanks again,

    Dan

Hey, the only way they'll do another run is if they sell this first batch. LOL

Yes three. I might have a guy from our local regulars interested too so two might do it.

Okay, I'm definitely interested. I would need to know the specifics first however.
