That's a lot of money for that kind of a mismatch if you ask me.
Congrats, my boring pair are on their way as we speak. Ho Hum................LOL
They look great, Congrats.
However I'm just not convinced that would be a leather for me after seeing it used on a pair of Galways someone posted earlier.
Possibly, however I have yet to make up my mind as to how exactly I want to go with something like this.
That actually looks like the 606 to me. But if you want round, you can't go wrong with the 202. I think the 606 is deceiving because they shape the toe of the sole square. The actual shape of the toe of the upper is round.
What kind of upper are you thinking, potato?
These will be my first pair of EG's, so I'll play safe and go with the classic doak.
I also checked out the 82 last, do you think that'll be too formal for a Dover? The thing is that it looks a little longer copmared to 202 on some pictures I've checked out. I also know that the 32 last is an option, but I've never seen that last in real life before.
To do Dover on the 82 I think you'll have to go top drawer. That would be a significant cost increase. Don't know about the 32.
I have learned that most default last/style combinations are that way for a reason i.e. asquith 888, dover 202, etc. A doak dover is about as good as it gets no need to reinvent the wheel IMO.
This is what I would expect as well.
Does EG do single MTO's or is it group only? Would like to get something like this done down the road..with different colored welt and sole edging likely
If you don't think you like the 606...A DOak Dover on 202 will be just as amazing.
Yes. They do single MTO. Contact Skoaktiebologet.
Absolutely, of course there will be a fee for it. Get 6 or more and you don't pay the MTO fee. However I wanted these bad enough so I paid the single MTO fee.
Here's a pic of my Dover in E82: I wear a smaller size (6.5E) and I think the proportions work well with the 82/888 so they don't look long.
Disclaimer: Nautilus not included with MTO fee.
