Well, this isn't an MTO question so I might not get any replies :D... but if you guys were to build a collection of EG shoes, which models would you think are the best / essential? Dover and Galway aside, what EG models stand out or what model would no shoe collection be complete without? I ask because I'm trying to figure out my next move and Derk's list is completely off the wall and not what I would expect from the commonly seen shoes on this thread. Also, there's a lot of very strange models that seem to be different just for the sake of variety. Plus there's a lot of derby / loafer models that don't seem to have much value in and of themselves and are only special because they are EG shoes.

Right now, these are the ones I'm thinking of and If I were to remove one, I'd say the Nevis would be the first one to cull.

    Chelsea
    Beaulieu
    Inverness
    Dover
    Shannon
    Galway
    Nevis
    Westminster

Inverness is one that gets my vote
I think the Nevis makes a fantastic boot.
Malvern for me is one that I might eventually get.
Chelsea would be one I would definitely consider.
The Westminster if I didn't already have a double monk from John Lobb.

My EG "essentials" would be, in this order:
    1. Dover, 606, doak
    2. Chelsea, 202, black
    3. Galway, 82
    4. Asquith, 888, doak
    5. Malvern, 202/82, chestnut
    6. Westminster, 888, black
    7. Piccadilly loafer, 184, doak or burnt pine
    8. Nevis, 606

Do not sleep on the Berkeley. It is among the most classic oxfords, and it's more useful/versatile than the Shannon IMO. The Berkeley is also more formal than the Asquith or Beaulieu, but I know some people must have the 888, even though it's not conservative and classic like the 202.

In addition, I would think one pair of loafers should be added to the mix before a double monk or multiple boots. Which one to select is your call. I like the Bamford, Piccadilly, Buxton, and Harrow.

Also, I see you chose the Inverness. I might swap that for the Malvern, depending on the leather/color chosen.

Don't forget the Montpelier. Absolutely gorgeous full strap penny loafer especially in hazelnut. Check out Skoaks shop for pics.

If anyone here is an F width and is keen on some Dovers doak 606 let me know and I might start a gmto. We need three to avoid the surcharge.

Used to hate split toe shoes, then I saw the Dover.. A simply stunning shoe. It's definitely top of my to buy list.

    Galway and Dovers, done.
Piccadilly, yesterday found an interesting business in dark oak, but the fact that I have a beautifil pair of full strap loafer from carmina is pushing me back.

Galway & Dover aside, I would also include the Westminster and the Silverstone into EG essential collection. Possibly the Harrogate as well... :)
