    Hi all,

I recently bought a pair of Oundles (888 last, Burnt Pine) from Leffot. They arrived today and feel a bit tight just at the opening, where you'd insert your foot. Essentially, when I walk, the top of the shoe feels like it's cutting a bit into my foot . Anyone have experience with this? It feels like I should get a different size, but I'm not sure if that would help. Should I return them or hope they'll break in?

New to the EG brand and wondering what you all think of the Claverton.

Obviously a matter of taste, but is this one of the more coveted models? Or a dud?

Looking to buy a pair and trying to be judicious about buying the "right" EGs

With EG, my experience is that it fits almost perfectly (except the instep could be slightly lower for me). I've never had properly fitting shoes cause significant pain. I would follow-up with Steven to discuss his return policies.

isn't this a monk strap? can you be a bit more concrete in which part of your foot it's cutting into. ty

I just picked up a pair of these as well.

I'm quite the fan - they are classic, yet not too boring with all the detailing in my opinion. Classic Edward Green.

I'm going to go with that Leffot stocks D width as the standard size, however that's quite narrow.

I've tried on shoes in D width and they've been too tight across the vamp as well.

Return the shoes while you can, and buy Edward Green shoes in the E width from now now......

They return for store credit, which I don't mind. I'll of course get advice from Stephen tomorrow, but I thought it would be good to get members' thoughts here as well.

The part where the front of the opening meets my foot. It's fine if I'm just sitting down or standing up, but when I walk, the leather cuts into my foot in a way that none of my other EGs do. I don't know if it's because of the monk strap "flap" or what.

Leffot doesn't stock a different width for this model. I suppose I could ask for a MTO, but I don't know if EG accommodates that. I've only ordered a MTO in their standard sizing.
