please can i ask your collective advice?

i have decided to purchase a pair of Edward Green Carnegie's MTO in the 82 last in black calf. so they will look pretty much identical to this:



i'm going to ask for as small a welt as possible. and a single leather sole to keep the look as simple and delicate as possible. and without eyelets for the lace holes

my question is - is there anything else i should make sure that i ask for?

for example - i saw someone mention something about requesting an internal toe cap once but i have no idea what that might be, or what it might be for.
