Unipair has a good selection of EG in F fitting if you are interested.

I am wearing my 82E galway today.

Does anyone know the current price for an Edward Green factory recraft? I have not sent shoes for this service in several years and wondered whether anyone could inform me of the going rate.
    Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Some retailers do carry the same shoes but in the F fitting, I remember I tried on the Galway boots on the 82 last F fitting and did not like the way they fitted me but that may be different for others. As I said everyones feet are not the same, I tried the Westminster in the 888 E but felt the F a better fit where as the Monmouth are fine in the same size and on the 888 E last . You need to really try both E and F and see what works best for you.

As far as last go I agree that 202 and 606 are widest standard fitting

the 888 and 82 are narrower.

Yes, the difficulty is that both of my local retailers carry nothing wider than E - and not an abundance of those - D seems quite popular. It fits me okay in the 888, but I've had more miss than hit with the 82. Have not tried the 202 yet.

I'm not a fan of the Irvine however the Scott is a fine looking winter boot. I have no experience with Cheaney so I'm not sure if it's worth almost $500.00. It is half the price of an equivalent Galway though. I just can't bring myself to spend $1k + on just a foul weather boot like the shearling version of the Galway though I'm sure it's very nice.

BTW the Scott can be found here.

This is a reply from EG, a few months ago, regarding a color change on a pair of boots:

    Dear Sir

    Thank you for your email.

It would not be possible to change the colour from Burnt pine to Dark oak. We could make them darker but it would not be as dark as the Dark oak calf.

If you would like to go ahead with this, we can arrange for the boots to be collected and returned by DHL. The charge for collection/ repolish and return is £105.

    Kind regards

..and this was their reply on an enquiry to change soles :

    Dear Sir

We are able to change the soles on these boots the price is £180 with a 8-10
    week timespan.

The Thames sole is made of rubber but was designed to look the same as a
single leather sole with the added grip advantage for city use.

If you live outside the UK I would recommend using our Home Repair Service
to get the shoes collected from your house sent to us for repair and we will
then send the shoes back to you, the reason for this is that we then do all
the paper work for you so you avoid any issues with customs or duty.

    Best regards,

Alderley and the two Shannons came in gentlemen. They are stunning. The Alderley is the nicest country boot we have ever seen and the Shannons are so elegant and beautiful. Pictures will be coming soon. [IMG]

Well I thought I was in love with the Galways il with shearling, but Leffot had the dark oak / pebble grain in my size so I ended up grabbing those.

And a pair of Lobbs in brown museum calf.

Obligatory wrist shot with Steven this morning.
