I have been on the fence for a wee while now, there's a pair of bordeaux boots by Vass on ebay that I've been very tempted by foe some time but I decided if I was going to dive in it was going to be at the deep end! I don't think I could do MTO, I have just bought those and will receive them in a few days but the wait for MTO would drive me insane!

I have them in Dark Oak ( 9 1/2E) & they still feel snug. These are a half size bigger, which I actually prefer on the 888 and 606 Lasts. I seem to be wearing Loafers more and more ( a result of 5 pairs during the G&G frenzy).

^^^ One of my fave EG models. I was trying on that exact shoe at the local EG retailer, but the 82 last didn't work for me. I'm happy they worked for you - beautiful shoes indeed. No go find your camera and take some real pics. [IMG]

Is this correct that in the factory sale each customer is not allowed to buy more the three pairs if shoes?

Didint want to make a new thread would appreciate some help,
Recently purchased a pair of galways and they are a bit snug, from what I have read there is a significant break in period, which I am willing to put up with.
The problem is I have had 2 pairs of snug shoes tear where the throat and the vamp was sewn together. One pair was AE Daltons and the other pair were a pair of cheap chukkas. Would not want that to happen to this pair. So the question is do I break them in and risk a tear or just sell them now?
    Thanks for your input.

Stylesp - I don't think anyone here can tell you how snug is too snug. But given that you have torn out too-snug shoes in the past hoping you would break them in, I think you seriously need to re-adjust your own perception of the sell / save tipping point. Breking shoes in shouldn't involve actually breaking them.

The chukkas were comfortable, just cheap, and I just assumed Allen Edmonds has bad stitching.
I wear a size 8 in everything and my wolverine 1000 miles and RL Lindricks fit fine on a size 8.
Ive just never had any experiences with these so called "elegant" lasts and was wondering if anyone has every damaged a pair of these shoes because they were to tight

    Thanks for your response
