Corthay is a bit too fashion forward for me. I didn't find the shoes I handled to be any better constructed than eg.

With so many awesome Galway contributions to this thread, I am finding it pretty hard to decide what make up I like the most and that should be part of a future order. Currently, I am somewhere in between dark oak/mink suede and dark oak/grain, but I am not sure. I am thinking that the suede version might be a bit less versatile. Up until recently I was convinced that the grain version was the only way to go.

[IMG] What do you guys think? What is the nicest Galway make up?

Poor EG - they have been relegated to the likes of Kurt Geiger, Russell & Bromley

    hoodog - I don't think there's a "best" - but I haven't seen a pair I'd swap these for:

[IMG] [IMG] That said, I'd probably say the same if I owned them in blue, or in that lovely bronze shade one retailer is carrying. I don't think the suede / calf combo is any less versatile - it's a matter of personal preference - but for me, I decided that I wanted a dressier all suede bal boot as a companion to the Galway.

EG cannot do anything to the pair of shoes linked above. They were color with a gold cream polish.

    Here is their response:

    Dear Sir

The shoes in question were polished with a gold cream for a fashion show as you mentioned.

I am afraid it is not possible to now change the colour with any degree of success.

Not sure. I contacted EG because even with a re-craft they could still be a steal.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the EoM sale is ongoing? I would love to pick up a pair of calf/suede Shannons.

I emailed the [email protected] email address but posts here indicate Mark is the gentleman with whom to speak. Can someone share his contact details?
    Cheers,
    Paul
