Further breaking in EG aubergine London grain Zlins and unlined black Dovers by wearing them around the house. Both pairs in UK8.5E on the 202 last which fit me well.

The black suede Dovers were a recent purchase from Gentlemen’s Footwear in San Diego, CA. I thought they were super sharp as soon as I saw them on Steve’s website.

If anyone is interested, Steve has ordered a batch of single leather sole EG Mercer monks with silver buckle in black calf on the 202E last. I put a deposit on a pair which should be incoming late April/ May 2025.

It’s a pleasure doing business with Steve. He’s knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the brands he carries. His in stock and selection of English footwear selection is unmatched in Southern California.

Dark Oak Antique Calf seems to have pretty many shades, this is particularly attractive in my eyes, although definitely not dark.
Sincere thanks for the compliments! I intentionally use only neutral cream to allow the pigmentation to fade. Over the course of 7-8 years, it developed a nice patina.

Today, I am sporting Dovers again, but in Mahogany pin grain, courtesy of Leffot /Dashing

Great looking as well.

I also tend to use preferably neutral cream.

Good afternoon,
Just arrived new Galways in Burnished London Grain and I would ask if you can recommend me Saphir products for cleaning and conditioning? I'm afraid that I'll wash off burnished makeup with improper maintenance.

Thank you!

Just use some bickmore 4. You won't take off the burnishing

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
