I bought a pair of used Edward Greens that have been worn 2-3 times. I noticed two black mark lines on top of the vamp (image attached) that I don't know what they are and am not sure how to handle. Would appreciate any advice!

Try an eraser. If that doesn’t work, you have a problem.

I have a weak for the 202 last with its lovely round toe, by someone described as bulbous, and will always prefer it over the 82, although the latter is nice and classic as well.

Here a comparison in an older picture from this thread.

Nice comparison shot. I have a couple EGs on the 82 as well. Pretty sure my Newmarkets are on the 82..but as I've been on the road the last 5 weeks I don't have access to any to see what I have on which. I got all 6 of my EGs at a decent price as "last pairs" and lasts were secondary consideration at best😅

Just in case anyone's interested..a discussion on another site concerning the naming of EG's Chelsea (cap-toe Oxfords) and Chelsea boots lead me to contact EG with the question as to which came first (the boot or the shoe)...below is EG's response..

"As you probably know, we tend to give our shoes names rather than numbers (for example areas of London, parks etc). Many years ago, probably since we have been making the shoes, we have called our toe cap Oxford “Chelsea”.

But I would think people knew the elastic sided boots as “Chelsea” boots before we named the shoe Chelsea."
