1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

    There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Thanks for posting this, stevent! I ordered the burgundy Kibworths last night. I really like elastic gore loafers, already have a pair in dark brown (RLPL Darwin), and thought my chance of finding an affordable pair in burgundy was nil, so I'm very pleased. I'm hoping they're actually burgundy antique, but I can easily antique them myself.

    When did EG start writing both sizes into their shoes? I just retrieved 3 pairs from storage, bought around the turn of the century (like the sound of that phrase), which show only one size.

    Edit: one m-t-o pair I have, ordered July 2002, shows both sizes

    Never been a fan of that style but when made by EG they look nice enough.

    I think part of the appeal is the use of the pig bristle on the split toe and the apron stitching pattern. I think it's just preference; personally I like the Dover as a casual shoe.
