Looks nice. Not very versatile though....
nephew, looking good
Indeed. Very nice colour. However, you notice the cracks in the leather towards the heels of both shoes?
Purple Radica is probably plum museum calf. Ilcea Radica => John Lobb museum calf. Purple => plum. Just my conjecture.
Beautiful. That reminds me that I totally forgot to mention that I saw a pair of these in a size 10 in the sale last weekend. Gorgeous but half a size too big for me unfortunately.
Appreciate the valuable input!
x-post from the SHOE DAMAGE REPORT & SHOE P0RN CENTRAL thread:
EG Dover on the 606 last in dark oak:
I call this one 'Dover Sole' :
So happy to have finally gotten these!
^ you suck man
I know I can always count on you for support
These are absolutely gorgeous. Looking forward to the instagram action pics
I'm on the hunt for another pair of EG and I really like the Edwardian Antique color, but after seing these I will get a pair in this color as well.
As a photographer you certainly bring out the best in these...I have seen them presented in a manner that looked pretty average before, but these look great. That dark oak colour is something else.
Did you buy them direct from the EG store?
Thanks for your kind words! I got these from Double Monk in Melbourne so I actually got to try them on beforehand.
It's dark enough that it should be able to fill in as a pseudo-black pair. I'm reminded of #8.
Interestingly I get a fair amount of compliments from these pair. Honestly have to say they are not even in my top third of favorite EGs that I own.
Congrats! Mine have darken over time:
NAMOR just wants a Dover in shell, in some crazy large size... in the amount of leather I could get 2 pairs. You're contributing to the shortage! Had to change out of the Oundles to my Chelseas yesterday since it rained (blacks are my rainshoes)
NIce stuff, DpprDr
How do you guys think the wider fittings of the 888 makes the last look? Do you think that it diminishes its appeal? I for one think that the wider fitting makes the last look less aggressive and therefore maybe somewhat more classic. What do you guys think?
