Hello ?
Is it worth buying EG shoe trees? Are they lasted or not? I’m awaiting an MTO in 202. If the trees are lasted for 202 then I might buy them, if not lasted then would C&J trees fit instead?
I can only comment on EG trees with regards to boots. In my personal experience woodlore epic trees fit EG boots almost as well as EG trees do. Difference is insignificant IMO. I have three pairs of EG trees and three pairs of boots. I use EG trees in my Galways (on 202 and 82), but have woodlore epic trees in the Alderley (on 202). Epic trees are slightly larger and they seem to fill out the Alderley better. This could be due to the softer and (to me) slightly unstructured feel of Utah leather. I use my third pair of EG trees in my G&G Thorpe (very good fit).

My first Galway bought from a forum member, they are... simply top notch.

Thanks guys. I suppose I might as well buy the EG trees when I collect. It’s a bit disappointing that they aren’t included with a pair of shoes @ £1240.

Trees being included isn't really the norm though, only makers that do are Vass, St. C, and JLP prestige.

The retailers running trunk shows with MTO used to comp them. I would say it's more the norm in the HW space vs. GYW

Zonkey Boots, Stefano Bemer, Bontoni, Riccardo Bestetti, Corthay, Berluti (?), Anthony Cleverly, AM Aurum, GG Deco, ...

Thanks for the more complete list. Still wouldn't say that it's the norm to have shoe trees included though (particularly for GYW), a lot of those names are either at a higher price point (GG Deco) or much smaller in scale. Where does one even buy AC from online these days?

I’ve done 2 EG made to order and they’ve both included lasted shoe trees but I don’t think they’re doing that anymore.

I don’t think this was necessarily a policy of EG but of the shop. I may be wrong.

It's definitely up to the retailer. Go check out Gentlemens Footwear, they are including EG trees on all EG purchases. These types of small perks are definitely differentiators in the high end shoe retail space.

You believe what you want to believe, I am only listing a couple RTW brands that include shoe trees.

Maybe even AM

Yeah updated the list, AM Aurum always have shoe trees included, they rarely offer Aurum RTW so it's a bit different.
I am pretty sure there are a lot of other brands that offer "free" shoe trees in the 700 - 1500 price range, Passus, for example.

Sorry, responded too quickly?. Yeah, I bet quite quite a few Chinese companies do too. It's not 3, that's for sure?
