i have similar sizing experience. I can wear a 8.5UK in 606 last for a dover, but for the galway, i wear a 9UK in the 82 last. I've found the 606 last to be wider at the forefoot than the 82 last.

I have had some shoes on 82 that fit and feels differently but they are the same size.

They are really nice.
I really need a pair of Suede Dover.
Can't make up my mind between Mink, Mocha and Espresso tough.
Anybody can provide side by side comparisons pictures of the different colors?
I have the Expresso And Mink which is faded too provide a worthwhile comparison. Always prefer the expresso.

I can second this. I have 2 pairs of Galway, 1 that is a pair of DOAK that's older, and a pair of Utah that's newer. The Utah pair fits a bit looser compared to the Doak pair, now the leather might be a factor, given how soft Utah is, but i've read that EG had switched last from wooden to plastic. There were some users that had said the newer pairs lasted with plastic last fit a bit looser than the wooden last. Not sure how credible that is but it seems to apply to my situation

I have had some shoes on 82 that fit and feels differently but they are the same size.

So I wore my 82 last Chelseas again to work today. On my feet all day. They felt quite comfortable - probably the 12th time or so I've worn them. I think they are finally "breaking in."

I reached out to EG some months ago to ask about the lasts and widths, and based on what I told them (which mirrors what I wrote above) they reassured me and told me to keep wearing them and not size up. I think in the end they were right.

One other question for the group: how supple is the rosewood calf on the galways? All of my EG's are calf in dark oak or black except I own one pair of Galways on the 82 in the dark brown utah leather. That leather is very supple and forgiving, so the shoe feels much wider than the same size/last in their calfskin. How does the rosewood country calf compare?

I have the same Dovers in both dark oak and walnut country calf. I wouldn’t say they are less “supple” but the country calf definitely feels thicker and stiffer. Mostly I mean that in a good way, but they did take longer to break in than dark oak calf.

I've been contemplating picking up a pair of DOAK/Walnut CC Galway's and after seeing @flylikeneagle COVID collection post I'm being pushed a little further towards the edge. My biggest hold up is that I have a pair of older DOAK/Mink Suede Galway's that I absolutely love and feel there is too much overlap among the two pairs. Anyone have both that can comment on what pair sees the most wear?

I am contemplating about picking up my first pair of Galway and I lean toward the DOAK / Mink Suede.
I was hesitating between the two but I love the look and the suede shaft makes it much more comfortable.
I would not consider buying the 2 as they would clearly overlap.

That's been my reasoning as well, which has kept me from the purchase.

+1

@jischwar my burgundy delapre and clove suede pair is noticeably more comfortable due to suppleness of the suede shaft. My personal opinion, but I feel smooth calf/suede combo makes for classic Galway. Nevertheless, I'd really love a pair in Rosewood CC :)

What's wrong with a little bit of overlap? Unless you're considering them against some other pair that you have nothing similar to, I see no issue.

What sole and last are your dark oak/suede Galways on?
