There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Hi guys, I'm looking to purchase my first pair of proper leather shoes, and I'm deciding between EGs or G&Gs.

I do need your advice on this, as my feet are rather problematic.

I'm flat footed, and so whenever I place my full weight on my feet, they both tend to cave inwards, due to the lack of arch support.

As such, I have wider, horribly supported feet. Also, after walking for an hour or two in my current leather shoes, my last two toes always end up red and swollen.

I was wondering if you guys would know of any EG lasts that you guys think would be good for my feet, or any recommendations at all regarding how to solve this problem of mine. I don't want to spend 800 pounds on a pair of shoes and have the same problem all over again, I think that defeats the purpose of getting proper well made shoes at all.

    Much thanks in advance!

I really think the answer to your problems lies in getting good orthopedic insoles and then trying on different lasts together with them. I really don't think that any of the EG/GG lasts by themselves will be able to help you.

Hope you find something that suits you!

I'll have to go get a pair of orthotic insoles first I guess, I just hope the sizing doesn't get compromised.

If not I guess I might just have to get a pair of St Crispins, or even worse, (or better), go bespoke.

Much thanks for the advice gents!

Just got some new classic models delivered to the store; Chelsea in DOAK on the 82 and Malvern, also in DOAK on the 202. Not flashy or super cool like some of the stuff I see here (and love) but very useful models to have in a wardrobe. :)
